The purpose of The Nutrition Consultancy is to contribute to the improvement of human health through education in the area of nutritional biochemistry, diet and nutritional supplements. We practice in the spirit of holism, treating each client as an individual whose needs are unique. We follow no particular dietary philosophy, wishing only to assist individuals in achieving their health goals using the principles upon which Nature has founded human biochemistry and physiology. It is our understanding that minerals provide a foundation for organic life.  Minerals and the other essential nutrients acquired from the diet provide one of the four foundational elements, which, along with adequate oxygen intake and handling, appropriate sunlight exposure and clean water, provide a framework for sustaining a healthy human being.  Loss of balanced physiology can often be traced to mineral deficiency. It is our understanding that modern dietary choices and lifestyles are far removed from our ancestral diet and lifestyle and that the availability and quality of these four foundational elements has subsequently changed.  We can then experience signs and symptoms in those tissues that are less able to adapt to this changed environment. Redressing lost balance between these foundational elements and providing individually appropriate nourishment reinvigorates tissues and gives them the resources they need to function more efficiently and to repair themselves.  This allows for better adaptation to the environment and provides protection against pollution, potential infections and degenerative disorders.  This is the focus of our work at The Nutrition Consultancy. In addition to an understanding of these principles and how they work in practice The Nutrition Consultancy has experience of conventional and other non-conventional therapies and their effects, as well as their potential interactions with foods, herbs and nutritional supplements.  These are taken into account in the assessment and recommendations given to clients as part of the  consultation process.
